Good for Douglas County for making sure people get voter IDs. The state and every city and county should take the job of being public servants as seriously.
The Wichita Eagle printed pages about the candidates for office. Now, how about telling the voters how to use the new voting machines? A lot of people are unfamiliar with touch screens.
Gary Mason said that if President Obama is for “it,” then he is against “it. Period.” I hope Mason doesn’t burn up his brain with that deep thinking. The profound depth of such mental stimulation gives the Little Arkansas River some serious competition.

Obama poses more of a threat to the middle class than Romney. During Obama’s tenure, the middle class is being downgraded to lower economic status because of lack of jobs and our poor economy. We need jobs and a stronger economy.
Here we are daily in an ozone alert, and there you are idling your car (with gas at $3.42 a gallon) in the store parking lot so you and the car can keep cool while you send someone else in to shop – for 25 minutes.
The picture of the U.S. women’s gymnastic team receiving their gold medal was wonderful, and we are so proud of them. But the awful, drab hooded jackets they were wearing looked like they belonged on members of the Gestapo.
Olympic athletes would rarely say they did it alone. They understand that coaches, parents, spouses, friends, teachers, siblings and fellow athletes contributed to their success.
If I see one more picture of an Olympic swimmer I am going to jump in a pool and drown myself.
