Drowning victim, 48, found in pool in south Wichita

A 48-year-old man, who drowned, was found Saturday morning in a backyard pool in the 2500 block of South Pattie, Wichita police said.

Someone at the home found the man about 8:30 a.m. floating in the above-ground pool, just south of Pawnee between Hydraulic and Washington. The man was a neighbor who had a “history of medical issues,” said Sgt. Bruce Watts. No foul play was suspected, he said.

The name of the victim hasn’t been released because family hasn’t been notified, Watts said.
