Thunder brings back Wight, adds Laredo defensemanBy Jeffrey Lutz

The Thunder continued their roster construction for the upcoming season, re-signing defenseman Travis Wight and adding defenseman Dave Inman, who played in the Central Hockey League last season with Laredo.
Wichita has signed five players — Inman and Wight join newcomer Neil Trimm and returners Matt Robinson and RG Flath. According to Robinson’s agent, however, the star forward will soon sign with Alaska of the ECHL.
Wight and Inman will help solidify a defenseman corps that appeared worn down by the time the Thunder reached the CHL Finals. The Thunder allowed 27 goals in losing the series in five games to Fort Wayne.
Wight has been one of the Thunder’s most durable and reliable players — the 30-year-old has played in every game for the team during the last two years. In 2011-12, he had 11 points but a plus-17 rating that ranked among the team leaders.
Inman fits the recent Thunder tradition of a defenseman who also is a scoring threat. With the Bucks last season, he ranked fourth in the league in goals by a defenseman, with 13, while adding 14 assists. Last season, three Thunder blueliners had at least 20 points.
