Power has been restored to a water pump station at Webb Road, so voluntary watering restrictions for residents east of Rock Road and in Andover have been lifted, city of Wichita officials said Friday.

Westar restored the power at about 6 p.m. Thursday, city officials said. The power outage had reduced water pressure in the affected area, resulting in officials asking residents not to water their lawns until Saturday. Andover had been included because Wichita provides its water.

Though restrictions have been lifted, city officials asked residents to keep a close eye on their irrigation so they only use the water they need. The water system will be dealing with significant load demands in this heat, said Alan King, director of the public works and utilities.
