Police have few clues in a drive-by shooting early Thursday morning in east Wichita.
Someone drove by a house in the 6300 block of East Willowbrook, just north of Kellogg and just east of Woodlawn, at about 2 a.m. and fired several shots, Lt. Doug Nolte said.
One of the bullets went through several walls and lodged in a bedroom where an 80-year-old man was sleeping. The sound of the shots awakened the man.
None of the three people in the house was injured, Nolte said, and they never saw who fired the shots. The location of shell casings found outside indicate the shots were fired from a vehicle, he said. The casings show the weapon was a handgun.
The other people in the house were a 77-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man, Nolte said.
Anyone with knowledge about this incident should call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
