Kansas State had three players selected to the Big 12 Conference’s preseason football team, released Wednesday.
Linebacker Arthur Brown, defensive back Nigel Malone and kick returner Tyler Lockett were the selections. Brown, from Wichita, was the Big 12 defensive newcomer of the year last fall.
Wichita native Joseph Randle, an Oklahoma State junior, was one of two running backs selected.
West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith was the preseason offensive player of the year. Texas defensive end Alex Okafor was the defensive pick, and Oklahoma receiver Trey Metoyer was the newcomer selection.
