An order of cloistered Carmelite nuns is about to break ground on a monastery near Kechi, and a golf tournament Aug. 13 at Willowbend Country Club will be held to help them.

The seven Carmelites of the Monastery of Divine Mercy and Our Lady of Guadalupe live a life of prayer and sacrifice for others within the walls of a modular home now, but construction is beginning on a proper monastery on North Woodlawn. The golf tournament, in its fifth year, will be at Willowbend Golf Club. The entry fee is $125 per player or $500 per team.
