Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers will hold a fundraiser July 23-25 to help send World War II veterans on an Honor Flight to see memorials in Washington, D.C.
During those three days, the company will donate 15 percent of its sales at its four restaurants in Wichita and one each in El Dorado and Derby. The goal is to raise $6,500 to send 10 Kansas veterans, Freddy’s President Bill Simon said.
His father, Freddy Simon, 87, is a WWII veteran.
Kansas Honor Flight is the newest Kansas hub for the national Honor Flight organization. The Hutchinson-based organization is conducting its first flight July 31, when 28 Kansas vets will go to Washington. It is still raising funds for a September flight.
