Three churches in Winfield were broken into over the weekend and Cowley County law enforcement authorities have notified other area churches to be on alert.
First Church of the Nazarene, Trinity Lutheran Church and First Christian Church were each broken into during the early morning. The Nazarene burglary happened on Saturday; the other two, on Sunday.
Significant damage was done at each church and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.
Winfield police think the burglaries are related and are asking for help.
