A 25-year-old woman from North Newton is in fair condition at a Wichita hospital today after being hurt in a collision on U.S. 50 Thursday, authorities said.
Rebecca Buchta was traveling east on U.S. 50 when her car drifted across the center line and struck a westbound semi two miles east of Walton just before 12:45 p.m., according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Buchta was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment.
The 43-year-old driver of the semi, Michael Parks of Necedah, Wis., was not injured in the collision.
