  • Published Friday, July 20, 2012, at 4:54 p.m.

Each Monday, The Eagle highlights a government record that is available to the public. Open records help people keep government in check and help them better understand how government affects their lives.

For a complete list of You Oughta Know columns, go to www.kansas.com/oughta.

The record: Printable maps showing political boundaries within Sedgwick County.

Why you’d want them: To be better educated before the Aug. 7 primary election.

Where you get them: From the Sedgwick County election commissioner’s office. Go to www.sedgwickcounty.org/elections/. Click on the “Printable Maps” link from the menu on the right-hand side of the page.

How much the record will cost: The maps are free.
