Local law enforcement has worked more than 400 drunken driving cases so far this year. Now we have “happy hour,” so more drunks will be on the road causing more accidents and deaths. What is wrong with our Legislature?

Until we are allowed to buy strong beer at grocery and convenient stores, our liquor laws will remain antiquated. The illogical existence of the weaker 3.2 beer remains a ploy for the liquor store lobby to retain its monopoly, and denies consumers and business the benefit of competitive pricing.
