Grand Prairie beats Wingnuts again

Grand Prairie used a five-run eighth inning to blow open a tight game and beat the Wingnuts 9-5 on Wednesday night in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Five of the first six AirHog batters in the eighth reached base, and all of them scored to give Grand Prairie a 9-3 lead. Wichita scored two in the ninth on a walk to Ryan Khoury and doubles by John Rodriguez and David Peralta. Rodriguez also drove runs with a two-run double in the fifth and an RBI groundout in the seventh.

The Wingnuts have have lost four of their last five games. They still lead the American Association Central by seven games, but Grand Prairie now has the league’s best record.
