An 18-year-old woman reported she was sexually assaulted by a man who pulled her over and claimed to be a law enforcement officer.

The woman said she was stopped before 10 p.m. Monday on U.S. 69 at 327th Street in Miami County. She said the man was driving a white Crown Victoria with lights on the front dash and a siren. She described the man as in his early to mid-20s, 5-feet-9-inches or shorter with a mustache and a goatee. He was wearing a black Polo-type shirt with a law enforcement badge sewn on the chest. He also had a gun and a badge on his belt.

Anyone who traveled that section of road and may have witnessed the incident is asked to call the Osawatomie Police Department at 913-755-2101.

A similar incident was reported in February south of Paola, also in Miami County. The sheriff’s office received a complaint that someone was impersonating an officer with a flashing red and blue light on the front of a dark-colored Chevrolet Cobalt and pulling over motorists.
