Parents with children returning to Wichita schools this fall can enroll their students online beginning Tuesday.
Online enrollment allows parents to complete standard forms, pay for enrollment fees and school meals, and fill out forms for free and reduced-price lunches from any computer with Internet access.
Parents need a Parent Assist account to access the online enrollment forms. If you don’t have an account, contact your child’s school.
After completing common enrollment documents, parents will be linked to their child’s school website to receive school-specific enrollment information, including school supplies and fees.
For more information or to enroll online, visit www.enroll.usd259.org.
Most Wichita students will still need to visit their schools during enrollment at the end of July. Secondary students are required to come to school to get their class schedules, ID badges and to sign policy forms. Elementary schools encourage parents to come by to pay for latchkey and pick up information.
Regular enrollment for the 2012-13 school year is July 30 through August 2. New this year, all schools will have consistent enrollment dates and times. Officials hope this will make it more convenient for parents who enroll children at different schools.
Enrollment times are: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 30-31; noon to 7 p.m. Aug. 1-2.
The first day of school for all Wichita students is Aug. 15, with a half-day orientation for sixth- and ninth-grade students on Aug. 14.
Families new to Wichita public schools must begin the enrollment process at their child’s school. You will need to bring proof of address, such as a rental receipt, lease agreement, gas or electric bill or mortgage payment stub.
