Obamacare – solving the problem of 15 percent of us by touching 100 percent of us. That is the government way. And why it is $16 trillion in debt.
President Obama promised no new taxes on those earning less than $250,000 a year. Now we know the truth. He has given us the largest tax increase in history, and it’s called Obamacare.
Our economy can’t survive this kind of tax increase.
If you drive a car but do not have insurance, you can be ticketed and fined. The health care law is no different.
I thought the state attorney general was the chief law enforcement official in this state. Then why did he join in the unnecessary, frivolous and unsuccessful lawsuit against the health care law? And how much have taxpayers gotten stuck paying for the suit?
I think the person who said a Catholic Mass had an anti-Obama message is a liar. I’m 70 years old, and have yet to hear politics in the Mass.
Finally – the Catholic Church is at last motivated to organize a rally for the faithful in Topeka. To condemn senseless violence around the world? Famines? Slavery? Totalitarianism? AIDS? Poverty? Nope. Birth control. Only in Kansas.
It seems our country is becoming one big cesspool of elitist privilege, which is evidenced by how the high and mighty have prospered in recent years while regular Americans have suffered economic catastrophe. It’s time for complete societal upheaval to right this grievous wrong.
How sweet of Gov. Sam Brownback to sit and read to those kids (June 28 Local & State). Too bad they don’t realize he has set in motion a state budget that will shortchange their schools and hang their grandparents out to dry.
All the hand-wringing over the city’s budget deficit is laughable. Increase taxes merely $1 per month per citizen, and the problem is eliminated. Just do it and get on with business as usual.
I wonder how many of you churchgoing ladies are secretly reading the book “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
I started reading Bonnie Bing’s columns when I was in elementary school. I will miss them. Thanks for all of the years of hard work, Bonnie. I think you educated many women in this area with wit, humor, style and class.
Thanks to The Eagle for the Dealsaver. It has been of extreme benefit to a lot of people. I hope it continues.
