A customer who walked into an alterations store in southeast Wichita this morning found the clerk handcuffed and bleeding on the floor, police said.

The 64-year-old woman had been robbed at about 9:45 a.m. at V Alterations, 4847 E. Harry, just east of Oliver. Emergency responders reported she was bleeding from her back and her wrist, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said.

She was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment.

No description of the suspect was available yet, the dispatch supervisor said. The investigation is being hampered by a language barrier at this point, she said.
