A 14-year-old boy accidentally shot himself while looking at a handgun in north Wichita on Monday afternoon, authorities said.
The incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. Monday at a house in the 2500 block of East 26th Street North, according to KFDI. Wichita police Sgt. Ed Brower told media at the scene the teen was playing with a gun out of curiosity when the weapon discharged.
He was taken to a local hospital with a leg injury.
