Authorities still aren’t sure what killed a 54-year-old man whose body was found in the Little Arkansas River near Central Riverside Park on Saturday morning.

An autopsy was inconclusive, Lt. Joe Schroeder said Monday. There were no signs of trauma, he said, and “nothing can be ruled out” at this stage of the investigation.

The man was fully clothed and he had identification in his wallet, but officials are not yet releasing his name.

Two people kayaking saw the body and called 911 around 10 a.m. Saturday, police have said.

The body had floated at least 20 yards down the river from the time crews first responded to the call. Crews pulled the body just north of the Nims Street Bridge between Central and Stackman. Fire crews used a boat to retrieve the body.
