AARP is hosting two meetings Wednesday to discuss Social Security and Medicare.

The meetings, at 1 p.m. at Century II Convention Hall and at 7 p.m. at the Sedgwick County Extension 4H Hall B, 7001 W. 21st North, will both be open to the public.

Kansan Joan Ruff, a member of the AARP national board of directors, is expected to be at the meetings.

“Nationally, we’ve heard from more than a million people who are frustrated that Washington isn’t listening to them when it comes to Medicare and Social Security,” said AARP Kansas director Maren Turner in a news release about the meetings. “They’re making their voices heard online and at community meetings and events all over the country.”

AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that advocates for people age 50 and older.
