A woman in her 20s was arrested early Monday afternoon following a standoff near Lincoln and Oliver, police said.

A man in his 20s called 911 just after 11 a.m. to report the woman fired a shot at him at a house in the 900 block of South Pershing, Capt. Hassan Ramzah said. The standoff occurred a couple blocks northwest of Lincoln and Oliver.

The woman barricaded herself into the house, Ramzah said, and the Special Weapons and Tactics team was called out to the scene. Traffic was blocked off in the surrounding area as a precaution.

When the SWAT team made entry into the house, the woman was not inside, Ramzah said. Officers searching the surrounding area found her about a block away in the 800 block of South Terrace.

The woman was taken downtown for questioning, Ramzah said. The man who was fired upon is also being questioned. The two are acquaintances, Ramzah said.

No injuries were reported.
