No need to wait for Mitt Romney to be president for Kris Kobach to serve him. Kobach has done that already with the voter-ID laws citing fraud where there isn’t any. He knows full well they affect the people least likely to vote for his buddy.
President Obama stated in January that his actions resulted in 4.3 million jobs. Since he’s still using that same number, does it mean it was a fraudulent number, or haven’t any additional jobs been created in six months?
Members of the Republican Party should take time to read about the Know Nothing Party, which was active in the 1840s and 1850s. Its members were against nearly everything, including Catholics, Jews and all immigrants. This sounds a lot like the Republicans in Congress today.
Jury trials started with the Magna Carta nearly 800 years ago so juries could protect people from King John’s bad laws. Now judges don’t want juries to protect you from bad laws.
McDonald’s leaves its TVs tuned to the Fox News channel to please the majority of its customers. More people watch Fox News than all of the other cable news channels combined. If you don’t like it, I don’t think that McDonald’s will miss your patronage.
I am not sure what has driven New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg to try to put the kibosh on large sodas, but I suspect it may have something to do with a whole warehouse full of medium cups in his possession.
The worst thing about religion is people thinking they need to share it. Those are your beliefs, not mine, so leave me out of it. I’m not afraid of the finality of death.
It’s irresponsible to compare pot smokers to bank robbers. Marijuana has the potential to generate tons of legal money, if it were only allowed.
Instead of a community advisory board, we just need to elect people to the City Council who are responsible, accountable, in touch with the voters of the city and, last but not least, some of our best and brightest citizens. That is not what we currently have.
The Wichita Police Department’s next crackdown should be for not using turn signals and not yielding.
The reason there are so many vehicle wrecks in and around a fine community is because too many drivers don’t care about anybody but themselves and certainly don’t care about the law. That happens to be the same attitude of many people who serve time in prison.
