I’ll bet Republican moderates are sorry now they didn’t compromise more with conservatives in redistricting the state. We’ll have to wait until November to determine the damage they have done to the Republican majority in the Legislature.
The residency rules are very flawed when someone wanting to run for the Legislature can move into a district very shortly before the election and qualify to run. There should be a minimum one-year residency.
I visited the Murdock Street tag office three times in May and June during the technology changeover. The staff was courteous, kind and efficient under pressure, and a lot of customers were patient and well-behaved – Kansans showing good behavior.
How lucky we are to be living now. If we were living in the 1860s, there would be a big range war over Wichita damming the river for its beautification. Water hoarding so people downstream get less water was just cause for any range war.
When everyone else agrees to a 50 percent cut in his paycheck, then we dentists will accept more Medicaid (welfare) patients.

Why do we even bother with elections? Since money has the greatest influence on who gets elected, why waste time and effort pretending we have a democracy? We should just go straight to the billionaires, millionaires, corporations and banks, and ask them who they want elected.
For the most part, wealthy people have worked hard for their success. The jealousy of some people who blame others for their own failure to achieve a certain income is disgusting. Stop punishing achievers. Become one.
The rich got richer during the recession and the poor got poorer. Yet the rich continue to blame the poor for our economy. Sounds like class warfare to me.
Median family net worth in the United States has dropped 40 percent under President Obama. Change we can hardly believe. “Forward”? How about back to where we were?
Obama has hammered Mitt Romney about being anti-women. However, nothing is more anti-women than aborting a baby because it is a girl. Obama will say nothing about sex-selective abortion because Planned Parenthood is his huge supporter.
