Please, Wichita, ban all fireworks in the city limits and enforce it with the exception of organized displays. The noise and danger are awful for people and terrifying for our pets.
This Fourth of July will be like the others in my neighborhood – lots of illegal fireworks at all hours and no enforcement. I would report the illegal fireworks, but there won’t be any response. After all, two police cars are parked in front of one house.
Once again certain state school board members may make Kansas a national laughingstock by denying evolution in favor of intelligent design. Evolution is science and should be taught in school. Intelligent design is religion and should be taught in church.
The state school board is failing to set proper priorities. Another “debate” on evolution is looming, and it still hasn’t had a single debate on gravity or long division. At this rate, it will never get around to debating heliocentrism.
I used to be impressed by those who could quote the Bible. Now I see that if you only ever read one book over and over, you’d have to be a complete idiot not to get it memorized eventually. Heaven forbid any new information gets in.
The IRS makes a huge error by sending a nearly half-million dollar refund to an Ohio waitress, and then requires her to show a photo ID to return the check to it. Is this the same federal government that is attempting to block states from requiring photo ID to vote?
We want a president who does not demean Americans as greedy and lazy, does not promote class warfare for political purposes, and does not blame others when his policies fail.
If the wealthy and corporations were able to contribute the way they did to keep Scott Walker as Wisconsin’s governor, and are giving millions to Mitt Romney, then why do they need the Bush-era tax cuts to create jobs?
If we allow the right wing to gain total control over our government, Mexico will seem like Utopia compared with the U.S. Maybe that’s the right’s strategy to solve illegal immigration – make the U.S. government so upside down and lopsided that Mexico’s government would be preferable to our own.
Want to cut obesity? Prevent any junk food from being purchased with “food stamps.” Only healthful food should be purchased with taxpayer money.
