New exhibition opens at Wichita Center for the Arts

Hundreds of pieces by Wichita Center for the Arts students and faculty will be on display from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at 9112 E. Central. The annual Student/Faculty Exhibition showcases the talents of artists in The Mary R. Koch School of Visual Arts. The exhibition includes paintings, ceramics, sculptures, jewelry and photographs. The free exhibition will be on display until July 8. It is open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. For information, call 316-634-2787.

El Dorado hosts touring painting exhibition

For a second year, the PaintAmerica exhibit is making a stop at the Coutts Museum of Art, 110 N. Main, El Dorado. The exhibit opened Tuesday and will be in town until Aug. 11. PaintAmerica is a nonprofit nationally touring exhibition of contemporary representative paintings. The exhibit features the top 100 paintings of 2011, as voted on by a jury at the organization. Admission is free at the museum, open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. For information, call 316-321-1212.

Summer concert series continue

Country singer Darrell Scott will perform at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Bartlett Arboretum, at the intersection of West Fourth Avenue and North Line Street in Belle Plaine. Tickets are $10 at the gate, and children are free. For information, visit www.bartlettarboretum.com.
