Rep. Bob Bethell, R-Alden, died Sunday in a one-car crash on I-70 near Paxico on his way home to Alden shortly after the close of this year’s legislative session. He was 69 and an advocate for those whose hobby was cars.
“(He) was quite instrumental in changing the antique title laws to a more reasonable approach,” John Stone wrote. He had several old cars including (of course) a Model A. He was a member of the Wichita A’s and will be missed by all of us.”
I didn’t know Bethell, but anyone who works hard for senior citizens, the Special Olympics and car guys is someone deserving of respect in my book.
