"Is Democracy for Sale?" is the topic of a public forum scheduled for 7 p.m. June 14 at the Wichita Boathouse, 515 S. Wichita.

The moderator is Laura Dungan, consulting director of National People’s Action. Panelists include Russell Arben Fox, associate professor of political science at Friends University; Louis Goseland, organizing director of Sunflower Community Action; David Hansen, director of Interfaith Workers Justice Kansas, and Davis Merritt, Wichita journalist and author.

Discussion will focus on the legal, economic, political and social consequences of the 2010 Supreme Court decision "Citizens United vs the Federal Election Commission." With this decision, critics contend, the Supreme Court enabled wealthy entities and people to dominate elections through their lobbying and third-party advertising.

The forum is sponsored by We the People of Kansas. For more information, go to www.united4thepeople.org
