Cowley softball wins twice at national tourney

The Cowley softball team opened the NJCAA Division II softball championships with a pair of wins Thursday in Clinton, Miss.
The Tigers won their opening game 3-2 in nine innings. Laura Seemann drove in two runs and Keley Fisher knocked in the other. Haleigh Sills was the winning pitcher.
Cowley stayed unbeaten with an 8-1 win over Mott. Seemann had three hits and Taylor Hatfield homered in the win. Taylor Parsons got the win.
Cowley will play Lousiana State-Eunice today in a winners bracket semifinal.
At The NJCAA Division I tournament in St. George, Utah, Butler was eliminated after losing 7-4 to Pima and 7-2 to Temple.
