Back-to-work instructions issued for Spirit Wichita employeesBy Beccy Tanner
The Wichita Eagle
As Spirit Wichita employees return to work this week following the April 14 tornado, all employees were sent this message:
All entrances to the plant are open.
Employees should make sure their parking passes are visible and be prepared to show their badges, if asked.
Spirit employees are also being asked to park where they normally do, unless they typically use 100 Ramp. Those employees will need to find parking on the east side of Oliver (R Lot) or in other available spaces. Parking will not be allowed inside the gates. Individuals with parking limitations should contact security for direction or assistance, according to Jarrod Bartlett, corporate communications spokesman, in a news release issued to all Wichita area media.
The news release also indicated employees should allow more time than normal when arriving to work and are encouraged to carpool, if possible.
They should also be prepared to walk farther than normal and carry an umbrella, in case of inclement weather.
Manufacturing employees should plan to arrive between 5 and 7:30 a.m.; salaried or office employees should plan to arrive between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
Employees are also asked to comply with any instructions from security and not to enter closed or barricaded parking lots.
