The Sedgwick County Animal Response Team seeks unopened, unexpired pet food and cat litter for the victims of Saturday night’s tornado in southeast Wichita.

SCART said in a release that the donations will be accepted at the Skaer Veterinary Clinic, 404 S. Edgemoor. Sedgwick County Animal Control will then coordinate pickup.

For tornado victims, the supplies will be available at the Oaklawn Community Center, 2937 E. Oaklawn Dr., daily from 1-2 p.m.

The Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, is waiving sheltering costs to house pets of owners affected by the storms who need boarding assistance. Stray animals found in the Oaklawn area are being taken to the Wichita Animal Shelter, 3303 N. Hillside. Residents trying to find their pets should call Wichita Animal Control, 350-3360.
