Find state’s emergency plan online


Each Monday, The Eagle highlights a government record that is available to the public. Open records help people keep government in check and help them better understand how government affects their lives.

The record: Kansas’ emergency response plan.

Why you’d want it: To learn more about how your state is prepared for emergencies and disasters such as severe weather.

Where you get the record: The latest plan, dated last year, is available at www.kansastag.gov. Click on the “Kansas Division of Emergency Management” link at the top of the home page. Then click on the “Kansas 2011 Response Plan” link in the Quick Links menu on the right.

How much the record will cost: The information is free.
