Spirit suspends operations Monday, Tuesday
By Bill WilsonThe Wichita Eagle
Spirit AeroSystems officials announced this afternoon that the company will suspend operations through at least Tuesday as it assesses the damage from Saturday night’s tornado.
All employees should not come to work until the company clarifies its later-week work plans, spokeswoman Debbie Gann said.
Several Spirit buildings sustained significant structural damaged in the tornado, with roof and siding damage visible from the road. The company has structural engineers on site working to assess the damage, while electrical power is being restored.
