— A man who was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident last year while fleeing from law enforcement officers in west Wichita has been arrested, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

Joshua Wynn, 22, is expected to face charges this week in Sedgwick County District Court in connection with the Sept. 1 accident, which resulted in the death of 19-year-old Mallory Scofield.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the chase began when a sheriff’s deputy tried to stop a motorcycle driven by Wynn at Meridian and 27th Street South. Although Winn eluded officers, investigators said, the motorcycle was later found near Maple and 135th Street West after it had crashed. Wynn and Scofield were both ejected from the motorcycle.
