Man dies in KCK workplace accident

An employee in a manufacturing plant in the Fairfax area of Kansas City, Kan., was killed Tuesday when he was struck by a falling piece of equipment.

Emergency crews were called to the Harlan Corp. at 27 Stanley Road at 2:47 p.m. and found a man in his early 60s pinned underneath some equipment he had been assembling. He was declared dead at the scene. His name was not released.

Harlan makes tractors used for towing aircraft.
