Thunder hockey coach Kevin McClelland, whose team has the Central Hockey League’s best record, became the second coach to be named CHL coach of the year twice when he was named Thursday.

McClelland also won it in 2007 as coach of the Memphis Riverkings.

With three regular-season games remaining, the Thunder has won 35 more games this season than it did two years ago. McClelland took over after that nine-win season in 2009-10 and led the team to 34 wins in 2010-11.
