When most of her Wichita State University classmates quickly split after a lecture by Mark Daley, then-CEO at Dean & Deluca, Clark stayed around to thank Daley and introduce herself.

A week or two later, Clark landed an internship, helping the gourmet food company headquartered in Wichita launch its social media campaign.

Finding work has never been a problem for Clark, 24, who said she has had some kind of job since the age of 14. She started at the Wichita Art Museum last month.

“I like to stay busy," Clark said. "I’m a hard worker."

Clark grew up on Wichita’s west side, graduated from Maize High and then earned a bachelor’s of administration degree in marketing from WSU. Along the way she worked at a mall, restaurant and salon and took tickets at a drag strip.

Clark’s first communications job was as an assistant at Carolyn Russell’s public relations firm. She also worked in new business development and marketing for Intake Studios.

At the museum, Clark will implement marketing plans, write news releases and a newsletter for members, make speeches, handle social media and coordinate special events such as Final Friday.

“In a nonprofit, each individual does multiple jobs," Clark said.

She said she had been looking for a "creative" job, adding: “You can’t get more creative than an art museum. It’s something I can really get behind."

Outside of work, Clark enjoys cooking, traveling, spending time with family and riding her motorcycle with her boyfriend.
