A planned home robbery went awry early Tuesday morning when one of the suspects cut himself on the glass he broke to gain entry into the residence, police said.

A man called 911 after he heard glass break in his house in the 1300 block of South Wichita, southwest of Lincoln and Broadway, shortly after 3 a.m., Lt. Doug Nolte said. Officers responding to the 911 call found a 48-year-old man hiding in the house, bleeding from a cut.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of the cut and then booked into the Sedgwick County Jail. Officers are now looking for two other men who were involved in the attempted robbery but left before officers arrived, Nolte said.
