Police have few clues in weekend shooting

Police have few leads in a weekend shooting that has left a 28-year-old man clinging to life at a local hospital.
The victim was brought to Wesley Medical Center shortly after 2 a.m. by a man who told police he found him at the QuikTrip at 47th and Hydraulic, where hed stopped after leaving Jezebels, Lt. Doug Nolte said.
The man, who was shot once in the lower abdomen, was immediately taken into surgery and is in extremely critical condition in the surgical intensive care unit at Wesley Medical Center, Nolte said.
Police found blood in the parking lot of the convenience store, but no shell casings and no vehicle belonging to the victim. He is from Emporia, Nolte said.
Investigators arent sure where the victim was shot or how he got to Wichita. It appears the man was shot late Friday night or early Saturday morning.
