Botanica will be abloom with 51,000 tulips in more than 80 varieties and 110,000 daffodils this spring, along with flowering trees, shrubs and spring perennials. To celebrate, Botanica will have a Tulips & Fairies Festival on the Saturdays from March 17 through April 14.

Each Saturday will feature a scavenger hunt and fairy activities, along with these extra events:

March 24 – Paint the Towne: Create your own tulip-themed art.

March 31 – Wichita Children’s Theatre performances of “Thwacked” (10 a.m.) and “Peter Pan” (1 and 3 p.m.).

April 7 – Picture Day: Get your family’s or child’s picture taken among the tulips. Download from Botanica’s Flickr page after the event.

April 14 – Kansas Dance Academy ballet performance at 2 p.m.

The gardens will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the activities will be included in Botanica admission or membership.

The daffodils normally bloom through March, and the tulips from late March through late April.
