North, South high schools win JROTC drill competitions

Wichita high schools took top overall honors in the annual Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Air Capital Drill Meet held at Wichita South High School on Saturday.

In the armed category of the drill competition, Wichita North High School placed first, South High placed second and Edmond (Okla.) North High School place third.

In the unarmed category, South High placed first, Wichita Southeast High School placed second and North High placed third.

The all-day competition, in its 16th year, involved 96 JROTC teams from 17 high schools in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
