Lori Stone

Client relations manager, Be Amazed Carpet Cleaning Services

After 18 years with nonprofits, Stone says working for a carpet-cleaning service is definitely different.

But only up to a point.

"Whether it’s a nonprofit or anything else, you have to know your product in order to market and sell it," she said.

Stone, born and raised in Wichita, previously worked for Botanica, Exploration Place, Via Christi Children’s Miracle Network and most recently the Make-A-Wish Foundation, where she was special-events and communications manager.

"I was just ready to do something else that gave me a little more management of my time," she said. "I sometimes have to play grandmother."

Stone has three children and seven grandchildren. She and her husband, Joey, live in an Old Town loft and enjoy the area’s attractions.

At Be Amazed, she said, "I basically build relationships with our customers and also do the marketing and go out and do the quotes" for jobs.

She’s still working for nonprofits, but now as a volunteer. This Saturday, for instance, she will be at the meatloaf cook-off and tasting she organized at the Anchor to benefit Make-A-Wish.

"I’m still involved," she said.
