MANHATTAN — Scott Christopherson scored a game-high 29 points and led Iowa State to a 65-61 victory over Kansas State on Saturday at Bramlage Coliseum.
Christopherson, a senior guard, made all five of his three-point attempts to give the Cyclones a 37-27 halftime lead and then made a deep three in the final moments to hold off the Wildcats.
Jordan Henriquez scored 17 points to keep K-State in it, while Rodney McGruder scored 14 and Angel Rodriguez had 10.
K-State went on a 20-1 run in the second half to take a 44-38 lead, but couldn’t sustain its hot play. Iowa State scored seven straight points and made enough plays to win.
With the loss, K-State (19-9, 8-8 Big 12) saw its hot streak come to an end. It had won back-to-back games on the road against top 10 teams.
The Cyclones (21-8, 11-5) are in position to finish third in the Big 12.
