Advance voting on hotel issue expands to more sites today

Advance voting opens wider today for a Feb. 28 special election to determine whether the planned Ambassador Hotel in downtown Wichita should get to tap the bed tax it generates to help build the $22.5 million project.

You can vote from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at these locations:

•  Center for Health and Wellness, 2707 E. 21st St.

•  Grace Presbyterian Church, 5002 E. Douglas

•  Machinists Union, 3830 S. Meridian

•  Maranatha Worship Center, 888 S. Webb Road

•  Reformation Lutheran Church Parish Hall, 7601 E. 13th St.

•  Sedgwick County Zoo Cargill Learning Center, 5555 Zoo Blvd.

•  Sharon Baptist Church, 2221 S. Oliver

•  St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 2555 Hyacinth Lane

•  Westlink Church of Christ, 10025 W. Central.

You can also vote at the Sedgwick County Election Office, Suite 101 at the historic courthouse, 510 N. Main, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday or 8 a.m. to noon Monday.

Voters will need to show a photo ID when casting a ballot.
