Regarding concealed-carry on campus: Yeah, beer pong and loaded weapons sound great to me.

How convenient of columnist Cal Thomas to jump from Calvin Coolidge’s 1925 stand against the Klan to Jack Kemp’s 1981 enterprise zones in arguing the GOP really ought to have more African-American friends than the Democrats have (Feb. 22 Opinion). Revisionism is always easier when Rip Van Winkle syndrome kicks in.

We could be the only city in the country with an oil well in the middle of our new library. Oh, wait – we don’t need a new library. Well, maybe we’ll keep the oil well. I wonder what private business is going to get the money from that.

Wichita City Council member Michael O’Donnell gets caught breaking the law, then blames liberals for having a vendetta against him. Come on – he really isn’t a big enough fish to have a vast left-wing conspiracy against him. We’re too busy working to destroy Christianity and America as we know it.

Listen to the shameless, maliciously false assertions about President Obama and gas prices coming from our classic American hustler, Newt Gingrich, and from all the others.

Brilliant plan – Republican oil company CEOs crank up the price of gas, then let GOP presidential candidates blame Obama for high gas prices. And the GOP sheep will fall for it.

Gasoline prices are approaching all-time highs. Gasoline is our largest national export. Does anybody still believe that tax subsidies encouraging American oil companies to drill for more oil will lower gas prices here at home?

America’s communism has come home to roost. The greens have stopped the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada. Our red president caters to them, and gasoline prices zoom upward. Announce that the pipeline will be built, and that will cease. The laws of free markets will function again.

The only reason the Keystone XL pipeline would run to the Texas coast refinery instead of a closer one is so it will be easier to load the fuel to ship to other countries that pay more for gas.

The assertion that oil from a Keystone XL pipeline will only be refined for export is a bogus position to take. If we lose our Middle East oil sources, I am sure that the USA will be glad to have the oil from the pipeline.

With all the sanctions against Iran, how is it selling oil to other countries that would affect our gas prices here?

When you pay $5 for a gallon of gas, thank Rep. Mike Pompeo and his GOP buddies who support corporate welfare for oil companies.

For those who feel that Rick Santorum is not qualified to be president: Don’t worry. If elected, he has promised to attend classes on how to be a community organizer.

Being a man, I believe the only ones qualified to vote or make laws on issues concerning women’s bodies are women.

Part of the punishment for the hoodlums who desecrated the gravestones should be to parade in a highly traveled intersection with a sign stating, “I’m the disrespectful jerk who desecrated the gravestones,” with their parents right alongside them.

Missouri lost, Missouri lost – errr – K-State won!
