An armed man robbed the Presto at 4414 W. Maple early Wednesday morning, police said.
The man was waiting as the clerk locked up the store, Lt. Doug Nolte said. He forced the clerk to disarm the alarm, then demanded money from the cash register and store safes.
He took several packs of cigarettes while he was waiting for the time locks on the safes to open, Nolte said. He then left the area on foot.
The clerk told police the suspect is a white man in his 20s who is about 6-feet-2. He weighs between 160 and 180 pounds. He wore a dark green jacket with black sleeves and a black ski mask. He was armed with a black handgun.
Anyone with information related to this incident should call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111, Nolte said.
