The body of an elderly Kingman man who has been missing since Tuesday was found dead late Wednesday, prompting police to call off what had been called a Silver Alert.

Wallace “Gene” Fairchild, 89, was last seen at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday driving west on U.S. 54 in his red 2005 Ford Ranger pickup in Kingman, police said.

He had dementia, and family members contacted police after he failed to show up at either of two daily visits with family members.

It was unclear where Fairchild’s body was found. A Kingman police dispatcher said no additional information about the case was being released Wednesday.
