Verizon’s spending on Kansas network totals $95 million in 2011

— Verizon Wireless said today that it spent $95 million in enhancements to its Kansas network in 2011.

The enhancements include expanding its 4G network to nine cities, adding new cell sites and upgrading equipment on existing cell sites and installing permanent backup generators at cell sites.

Verizon has spent more than $406 million on its Kansas network since 2000, the company said.
