A Wichita police officer responding to a domestic violence call was bitten by a pit bull, police said Sunday.
The officer was bitten in the upper right thigh about 1 p.m. Saturday at a house in the 1100 block of North Erie, near Hillside and 13th Street. He was treated for minor injuries at Wesley Medical Center and released, Sgt. Scott Bruno said.
Animal control cited the owner, a 51-year-old woman, for not having the dog neutered or placing a microchip in the animal. The dog, Jake, was released to the owner.
