Have you found your raincoats and umbrellas, Wichita? Wipe off those cobwebs, because you’ll need them over the next couple of days.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day and into Saturday in the Wichita area, forecasters say, and some of the storms could be strong. Rain could cause localized flooding in low-lying streets and fields.

Highs today will be in the mid-50s, with light winds shifting from the southeast to the northeast. Overnight lows will be in the mid-30s, and then snow could mix with the rain Saturday morning. Highs on Saturday could touch 40 in Wichita.

Showers should be ending by late in the day Saturday, and then Super Bowl Sunday will be mostly sunny and cool. Highs should top out in the low 40s, forecasters say.
