I didn’t hear anything in the State of the Union address that I haven’t heard before, and I predict no progress will be forthcoming because of this speech.

Obama’s sad excuse for a State of the Union speech underscores the reason he needs to be removed from office in November. We certainly don’t need four more years of this mess.

Only two presidents have wanted to raise taxes during a recession: Herbert Hoover and Barack Obama.

OK, we are supposed to respect the president or at least his office. Someone needs to tell him to quit feeding us material. Stay away from Walt Disney World; don’t sing for the media.

I’ll vote for whoever will do the most the fastest to roll back the extreme left-wing agenda of Barack Obama. Newt Gingrich, despite all his moral flaws, is the most likely to do what’s best for America.

Obama said he didn’t have time to decide about the Keystone XL pipeline. Gee, he could have played one less round of golf in the past three years and had plenty of time.

Have those supporting the pipeline forgotten the Gulf oil spill already? Do they understand the pipeline oil would be used for export? How does that reduce our dependency on foreign oil?

Since Gov. Sam Brownback was elected, we have lost funding for the arts and education. Now he’s trying to give responsibility for the long-term care of the developmentally disabled to for-profit insurance companies, and trying to raise taxes on the poor and lower taxes on the rich. Is this really the kind of government we want?

Enough is enough. How long before we can vote Brownback out of office? This guy is terrible for our state and anyone in it. And this state complains about Obama? Wow.

The protesters interviewed about schools that may or may not be closed start their TV comments saying they have a child who goes to a particular school. Their interests come first, followed by their child’s and, finally, what may be best for the school district and its patrons.

The Lincoln Elementary mother who needed an interpreter to address the school board should learn to speak English, especially if she’s been in America any amount of time.

I would suggest that if you don’t speak English and wish to have your comments heard by the school board, you have your comments prepared in advance and have the interpreter present them.

Why are we paying for magnet schools? They are like private schools, so the parents, not taxpayers, should pay for them.

It is not just the lack of parks and gathering spaces that makes Wichita unattractive to young talent. It is the pioneer culture that is unwelcoming to outsiders.

The war on drugs is a waste of time and money. Marijuana can enhance the quality of life for many individuals. Our brains are not fried.

I thought the WSU Shockers’ gray uniforms were ugly. Then I saw K-State’s gray uniforms. Somehow they are even uglier.
